Nice to see Calis Beach Indian restaurant is now up to No. 8 on Trip Advisor - well deserved - the curries we had in June were delicious.  Looking forward to going back in September.

Not really one to try or rave about curry on holiday as Iam spoilt for choice where I live so hard to please.
However having previously tried the Shine/Bombay Corner and not being impressed ,last week I tried this little gem of a place which Hulki and Ahmet of Forum Bar,Shine,Bombay Corner fame are working extremely hard to bring good quality Indian food at reasonable prices to Calis.
There were 7 of us at around 9pm in the evening and not a seat to be had,but Hulki and Ahmet soon sorted that out and with a little rearrangment we were comfortably seated.
Our starters varied from onion bhaji, channa poori, popadoms, pickles etc followed by Lamb Pssand.Karahi, jal ferezi, tarka dhall etc with the best naan breads around.
All of the dishes were very fresh and cooked to order so you need to wait a little longer,I dont mind that, there were no complaints from any of us about the food, location, service.
All I would say is that if you are expecting Indian restaurant cooking like your local takeaway you will not get it but if you ,like I have ,have ever eaten Indian home cooking with a family this is what you get here.Very authentic in my book and reasonably priced
I wish Calis Beach Restaurant every success

I wish them well too. Hulki is a nice fella and the one thing I missed was a good Indian when we lived there. Good to hear they have got it right now. Just goes to show what people can achieve when they are left alone and allowed to get on with it.

Agree.
Hulki and Ahmet where almost the first bar people we met back in 2005 always made us welcome wherever they were working and whoever they where working for. Good to see now they have had the opportunity to go it alone. will always support nice guys.

I read on another Forum that the Calis Beach Restaurant is owned by the people who had the Bombay Corner.

The people who run the Calis Beach Restaurant used to work for the people who ran Bombay Corner into the ground and didn't even pay the rent for over two years. Power to the people! Good luck to the staff who became the bosses.

Good for them.  Reading Turkey's For Life it made it sound like the same owners.  Glad the staff have a success on their hands.
