But you did get charged if you paid £10 each.  This changing from hold luggage to hand luggage really winds me up because it is all going on the same plane.  All they do is get customers stressed. I don't see the logic but maybe I am thick.

No they didn't charge us the £10 each at the priority desk. Just checked us in!

Ryanair are the same - make people swap from hand luggage to hold - or visa versa. Winds me up so much when it's all going on the same plane. I think they do it so that you have no time in departures and have to buy food/drink on their plane.

Gosh Jacqui, your family hasn't had much luck at either airport this year.
It,s bad enough with delays when you are without children, really feel for your daughter :(

We have taken to weighing our luggage at a spare desk at Dalaman, their scales never seem to agree with ours. ???

Be careful if flying with monarch as their excess baggage charges start at £10 per kilo and I have been told can rise to £20 for some flights. Only upside is that their ZB flights allow 10 kilos hand luggage. More unpacking and switching around from hold to hand luggage at airports then!
