I don't know much about art, but I know what I don't like
« on: May 26, 2013, 21:09:55 PM »
Back in February I posted about  Kelvin Okafor's wonderful drawings which I think of as art.

This, from the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, most certainly is not. I would even go so far as to say my pathetic effort at Mozaic last year was better  ;)

I much prefer Peploe's work to that of Okafor. Seems to have more to say.

Mmmm, I know which I prefer.  Peploe's art (just based on Google images) seems all bowls of fruit and poorly drawn landscapes like above.  I know absolutely nothing about art but as H said, I know what I don't like and have never been persuaded something is 'good' if I can't see or sense it.
I actually like H's first picture - I 'sense' that one ...if that makes sense?

I have some of the nudes too Colwyn, there's something really fascinating about his work, whether people like them or not they seem to hold attention! ( not just the nudes either! )
