We wandered down there early evening tonight. The beach immediately before the Sat barrier was heaving, beyond there leading to the Sat it was completely empty apart from the odd Turkish family sat on their carpets, nobody was on sun beds.

The area behind the Sat where the lake is leading to the bird sanctuary is lined with signs saying Özel Alan ( Private Area ) there was nobody at all in the Sat beach club. They are also stopping you from riding a bicycle down to that end of the beach which is disappointing

It would appear they have shot themselves in the foot.  There is a long expanse of beach in Calis where people can nip across the road for food and drink at much more reasonable prices.

We first tried the Șat seven years ago and they were charging 12 tl then for a vodka and orange.  We walked in, ordered our drinks and then asked to look at the menu.  A waiter came over and asked if everything was okay, we replied "yes, except for the price of your drinks.  He then said "how does 8 tl sound? to which we replied "better than 12tl".

The setting is gorgeous but I do think there are better eateries around.  The new part of the Kordon in Fethiye has some excellent restaurants and the view is every bit as good.

The difference between the sat and the average part of the beach is that it has been turned into a very nice beach club and everything is looked after and kept clean and tidy. If you go anywhere you pay for the sunbeds or an entrance fee. I know there are exceptions like guvens and so on but they have made a very nice place to chill if you want something different and a bit more up market.

"they have made a very nice place to chill if you want something different and a bit more up market."

..and you are prepared to spend a fortune on food and drink!

What's the price of a beer and a G&T this year at Sat? Change out of 30ytl would surprise me.

hi,just got back from a great stay in chalis, the highlight of my hols is to fish at the rear of the sat club, just me and my rod,and the local guy who has been a fixture in the six years i have have been coming.to cut along story short, had a  huge row with the security guard and guy from the restaurant, the fact i had been going there for years, using the bar and restaurant with family and friends meant nothing to them,i could not get an explanation as to why they stopped us fishing in an area where  nobody goes or swims,it all ended with them putting two no fishing signs  either side of me!so i told the guy i would never use the sat club again, got back in my pram  and stormed off.

I'm totally in agreement with you, how can they turn the area with the lake into a private area when it forms part of the bird sanctuary ?

It's not so long ago that the strong rumour was that it was built without correct permissions and was to be demolished. Seems they are making hay while the sun shines perhaps  :)

I agree with those who agree with me that choice is the key and if they believe there is a market for people who like a clean bit of beach and expensive food and drinks then good luck to them for breaking ranks from the RC&S mentality and providing.
