We love to go to Seckin at Gunlukbashi as its authentic turkish food there and always full of local people, no you dont get the sunset and sea view but for a change you can see what we call real people going about there day to day life in there country and we love to see that, dont get me wrong we love to watch the sunset in Calis, but to see the locals going  about there day to daylife and see how they live is what we love to see.

Me too! I'd rather have good food on a formica table with a local buzz than fancy table cloths and overhearing Brits moaning about mozzies.

Imo if Calis waits long enough the restaurant owners will catch up /catch on, as have  Olu Deniz, Hisaronu, and Ovacik, over the last 18 months or so. There is a profusion of Turkish restaurants, great real meat kabap establishments, gozleme, small family run places. Most likely because of the big surge in Authentic Turkish holidaymakers. Great Iskender in Olu at the Brit sounding Best Kebap Restaurant.  :) 8)

So no recommendations for Calis, which was the question   :)
ake before someone
For genuine specialty dishes from Hatay, a south eastern province of Turkey, you can't beat The Mozaik Bahçe (Mosaic Garden) restaurant in Fethiye.

I was wondering when someone would mention Fethiye's number one restaurant!

I agree with Eric - you can't beat the Mozaik for really good traditional Turkish food.

I also agree that the lokantas offer great local food at really good prices.

All restaurants in Calis Beach are Turkish and all sell authentic Turkish food cooked by Turkish Chefs.  Ask for a Turkish meal.  In fact, if more people ordered Turkish food in Calis Restaurants we might not have this thread. The Restaurant owners will give the British tourists what they want... Usually a big steak dinner.

I've noticed this year a much bigger choice of Turkish food in many of the restaurants, probably because of the increasing numbers of Turkish tourists.
