We are lucky to be not too far from Arbroath, famous for it's "Smokies" but also some amazing hot smoked salmon which even friends who don't like salmon found delicious. The smoker we go to is the one Billy Connolly visited in his World Tour of Scotland series.

Fair play to Billy Connolly. He turns 71 this year.

Doesn't sound too impressive, until you realise that's 497 in Glasgow years.

We are also near Arbroath, but we have a Fish man who has a small building at the back of one of the shops in Peterhead, only the locals know about him.  He goes to the Market every morning and brings back the fish.  He has a small smoke house and smokes the haddock which the locals call yellow fish.  He supplies the local hotels etc., but will sell fish to anyone that comes in.  It's so cheap compared to the Fish Monger Shops.  He will also get you orders.  i.e. Halibut.  I love Halibut.

Just been to the Pork Shop, nearest thing they have to Meskit is battered Haddock, not the same thing at all. Also can get that in Migros for cheaper price. ???

The last time I was at the Kargi sausage place, he was just opening up a smoke house & was planning to do fish. May be worth a visit, it's around 10 mins walk from the Kargi nomad museum
