Christmas Day was allocated to jacqui harvey in the first calendar and to slikmrs in the second and £ 15 was allocated to that date. Thank you both so much ladies - your donations have both been safely received.

I had intended posting this tomorrow but my laptop has completely died so here goes. Please read the last bit, it's important.

Firstly, there are many people who should have featured on calendar one but I could only use the photos on the 3C's website at the time. If you are not there then please accept my apologies. Calendar two was only for light entertainment.

After that just what can I say.

I tentativley set out the fill an Advent calendar that would have raised £ 230. But YOU soon filled two calendars and that instantly raised the total to £ 460.

But that reckoned without the generosity of the poeple on here. Some people donated more than was allocated and in one case donated without having chosen a number.

That generosity raised the toal by £ 75 to £ 535

And I have to tell you that the staff of Allied Souter & Jaffrey (my lot) and two architectural practices who I frequently work with agreed to fill a third calendar. Now given that these people have no connection whatsoever to Calis, I didn't think that I could ask the same amounts of money. So this calendar should have raised only £ 60.

I say should have bdecause once again I had reckoned without the generosity of people. As with the Calis calendars people donated more than was allocated and instead of £ 60 my Works calendar raised £ 121.

So I am delighted to say that when all the money comes in the toal will be £ 656.

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ ON

I did not contribute 1 Tl to the total (well except for the fiver brenda52 borrowed, but I remain hopeful that I can get this back without the threat of violence). YOU, the members of the wonderful CBF, raised ALL of the money. So ALL of the thanks goes to YOU.

If a certain someone, who loved helping childern, is looking down, smiling and saying "Well done dad" then that is enough for me.

And lastly, I will doubtless be calling on your generosity again i the future, but please remember what scunner says "giving on CBF will never be required or indeed expected. Thos that give will.

May I wish you a Happy, and above all healthy 2014.

Thank you so much for helping the underprivileged children.

Well done John for organising this event. £656 is a remarkable achievement and well worth the effort that you put in.
Also well done to those that took part.
I hope you get the fiver back off the present Mrs H.   ;)
