I've been lucky enough to meet a fair few through work but the stand-outs (good and bad) were:

Gok Wan - spent the day travelling round Yorkshire on a coach with him, an absolute hoot and lots of fun.

Jenson Button. Lovely, open, friendly (and gorgeous).   ;)

David Cameron. Um, yeah. Says a lot without really saying anything.... In the real world he'd be instantly forgettable.  : :)

Princess Anne. I'm not a royalist at all but I was massively impressed; I hosted her at an event while working for a charity of which she is patron and after speaking to people once she remembered all their names for the farewell line-up. (And no, nobody was whispering in her ear!)

David Jason. Possibly the biggest disappointment as I was always such a fan. Superficial prima donna and up his own whatsit. I was gutted.  :(

In Dubai I was at Dubai creek golf course,
booked tee time as I was on my own, the pro who is a friend said would I mind joining with another 2 ball
To keep play moving. Imagine my surprise when Henrik Larrson walked on the tee
Being a big Celtic and man utd fan and despite being 5 handicap at the time
I have never been so nervous hitting first tee shot
But an absolute gentleman on and off the course, and still my hero

I have met many famous people over the years but the one that sticks out in my mind is the most recent. Whilst in my favourite bar on the Strand in London (it's called the Port House) in November I noticed Ralf Little (of Royale Family fame) sat at the next table. No less than five times he and his girlfriend were interrupted by people asking for photographs etc. and on every occasion he took the time to speak to them and duly obliged with a friendly smile. I made the point of saying to him how nice it was that he did that and he just smiled, shrugged and said "thanks".

As well as working in the construction  industry all my life .. my wife and I  from 1983 to 2002 were heavily involved in the `entertainment` world   and during that time met and shared  the company with many celebrities  and movie stars.. to name a few memorable ones...   first and the best  was in 1989 when my wife and I  and Oliver Reed and his then new wife of 23 yrs old.... just the four of us shared a golden hour or so at a hotel in Devon... He was there all week end but drunk and out of his mind  most of the time , but when  it was just the four of us it was ealy morning he was sober .. and the charisma was oozing out of him...  my wife melted in his prescence :-)  but its an hour of chatting etc with him we will never forget.
Also we spent a lot of time with Michael Aspel  and during the filming that was on going we spent a lot of time with him... a very vain and boring person... yes a good tv host / presenter etc  but as a person .. not in the same league as `Ollie`.. and if anyone wanted Aspel`s autograph he manouvered himself  to pose
Michael Caine was someone that my wife chatted to for about twenty minutes .... a real gentleman and likeable bloke and an occasion she wont forget... sooo easy to talk to
The chef from faulty towers ( actors name escapes me ) we also had the pleasure of spending  a long time with... another nice guy
We have met many lesser actors and personalities over the years .. too many to name here but they were`nt big like the above mentioned
