Really hope so, cant wait till the end of May to find out what has happened to our lovely calis, please don't spoil it too much in the interests of modernisation.

The Calis taxi ko-op is quite a big concern, I wouldn't think for a minute it won't be around. Like Badger says, probably back with a posh new office in time for May. The canal work looks awful but there are some lovely examples of turning these into very attractive features which benefit the area in several ways, all good.

In fact, here is the plan which I found on the Calis Boat Ko-op page

I bet they don't get all the palm trees the same height

Oh Dear this does not look good, all the quaintness and charm gone and clinical, cold building in it's place. All the character that was there will now be lost.   Lets hope it will not look as bad as this when built.

What I miss about Calis when we are not  is getting up in the mornings and sitting outside for breakfast when it's lovely and warm.
I also miss lying by by the pool in the afternoon and listening to nothing but the water in the pool,  reading a book for a while and then just drifting off for a sleep.  Then later having a dip in the pool followed by a G.&.T. and waving to the lady with the goats and sheep who sits in the field next to our place.

I miss sitting in the Sunday Market with a mixed juice watching the world go by...now that's the way to spend a Sunday.

We love the Sunday market for lunch, I have a mixed gozleme, M has mixed 'village half bread' with a delicious orange and pomegranate juice. We finish off with Cay, then wander round the stalls for a while. Later we'll saunter to the front and have an icy cold Efes outside Hamsi bar. We just sit there enjoying the warm breeze and sunshine; watching the lazy flow of people passing by and listening to the waves gently lapping onto the shore. Heavenly really! Yep, that's one of the things we miss a lot. 8) :-\
