Obviously, you have to selectively shop.  I buy M.&.S. petite trousers, they are perfect for me.  I hope I am not frumpy or stuck in the 1990's.   It's all about selective buying and picking and choosing.  I saw a lovely pair of cut off trousers in M.&.S. in Rhodes, but there was nothing else I would have bought.  I think it's a shame to discount any shop as there is always something you can buy.  I have shopped at designer shops and budget shops and I always find something I like.  It's all about being a savvy shopper.
However, before judging anyone's fashion sense or how fashionable they are, I like to see images or better still the person in the flesh, then, I may respect their opinions.

Come on Jim, we know you were only goading the "We must have an M&S in Fethiye" brigade.   ;)

OK i admit it.

Who mentioned judging other people or their fashion sense?
As I said, it was my wife's personal opinion on what was for sale in store.
She is also 'petite' but has no desire to buy just because it is there.

Well I'm with Jacqui on this one. I'd love an M&S in Fethiye. For the clothes. The furniture would also be great, but I'm not hopeful.

However, it does concern me that as with all malls, the smaller businesses suffer.

I am also hoping for a Sephora as I know there is one in Izmir so, perhaps, a big shopping centre would attract this chain.  In the meantime I am sure an M.&.S. would please a lot of lady ex-pats in the area.

The shop next to the Card Shop in Fethiye is under new ownership.  She has had some very nice knitwear over the winter, all sourced from Istanbul and at very reasonable prices.  I have seen the same items in the "Designer Street" a 100 lira more.

In the summer she will sell mainly dresses and tops - some of them will be made by the owners.
