Forget turning water into wine, locating the real holy grail and finding out who really killed JFK - someone has managed the impossible in Ankara.

Statistics show Ankara had a 100%+ turnout

Here you are Ian. A graph showing the relationship between turnout and margin of victory (or defeat) at the level of individual ballot boxes. As you will see, for ballot boxes of less than 100% turnout the parties are quite close - in fact the CHP has a slight lead. However for turnouts over 100% (over 1 on graph) the AKP has a strong lead. This is especially well shown in ballots of 120% turnout. I bet that surprises you.

Looks like they were not too worried about voting early, simply voting often is good enough!  ;) ;D ;D

Sorry Kevin no idea but I do know there was a bit of a surprise upset in Uzumlu where the old Muhtar was not re-elected.

And on a lighter note Dogan told me last night that in a town near Istanbul I can't remember the name that the MDP was first, then AKP then trailing was CHP. AKP demanded a recount and the new winners are CHP   ;)
