What does this actually mean then if you've paid your council tax , as I did during 1st week in April, at the council offices?

Are we talking water rates or council tax here, or both.  Can someone clarify for me please.  We pay water rates by DD but have always understood that council tax had to be paid in person.  Will the CT still be payable at the back of the supermarket (forgotten the name) in Fethiye by the harbour?  ???

"One important item he told me today was that following the elections, a decision has been made to relieve each Belidesiye of responsibility for the water supply, this has now been centralised to Mugla who will with immediate effect resume all responsibility for meter reading and bill collections. This means that Fethiye are no longer able to accept payment for water and as such any standing orders with the bank are also void. The problem being that Mugla have not yet established a base in Fethiye and this is unlikely to happen before May 20th 2014. "

I think the answer is in the posting.

Was only reading yesterday in Daily News (Hurriet) that the government were favourably looking at extending the visa period to 5/6 months and making the residency easier, and showing more understanding for gains from the tourist (landlords) who make such a contribution to the home economy. Not before time I thought!! and then another spanner in the works.-Payment of dd for water now through Mugla and residency through Ankara!!WHAT NEXT

I'm more concerned with the water changes to be honest.  How on earth can they change these things without having a proviso in place to help with the transition

If you read the first post you will see that the topic is about Water Rates.

I thought that was what I ooriginally understood, however, the postings then swung to Council Tax and that confused me (doesn't take much).  So Council Tax stands as is it and we have to go through the process of changing DD for water rates.  Nothing is ever simple is it.
