Hurray, now available in Tesco U.K.
« on: May 12, 2014, 10:34:09 AM »
My son and his wife went down to Dundee at the weekend and brought back a bar of my favourite Turkish Chocolate Ulker Whole Pistachio, (for sale in Tesco).I had no idea it was sold in Scotland and it will now save me bringing a pile back in my suitcase for the rest of my family, who all love it too.

Oh dear and there is me on the Hairy Bikers diet for the next two months! Dare not buy it as I know I would eat it! But thanks for letting us know. By the way if anyone is lucky enough to have a B&M Bargain store nearby the Efes is quite cheap.

Highly recommend that diet if anyone is trying to lose weight, nice food and dead easy to follow it, 1-2lb a week
loss and I still have a drink at weekends. Miss my one  single malt when I finish work each day though :(

Ulker has been readily available in the UK since before we went to live in Turkey in 2003.
Having just checked it originated in Belgium.

What, the bar of chocolate or the brand?

Well, the actual bar of chocolate may have.  Ulker do have manufacturing plants outside of Turkey so there is the possibility that some products may be made in Belgium or Germany.

We have never seen this chocolate before in Scotland and I just looked at the packed...only two pieces left...boo hoo!!  Lots of Turkish printing including the website wwww.ulker.com.tr  and the address of manufacturer in Istanbul.   No mention of Belgium anywhere.

It's often best not to mention the Belgians.

If I can work out how to use the camera on my phone I will oblige with a photo.  it is the only Turkish chocolate that I like, unfortunately the diet is not allowing me to look at bars, but I will make the exception.
Netto before they became Asda used to sell them along with Ritter and Hersey.  They are usually displayed on the front counter of every damn newsagents when waiting to pay, total unwarranted temptation.

I or none of my family have ever seen them in Scotland before, wish we had as we love them.  I count myself as a good shopper and would know if I had seen them.  They may have been selling them in the Deep South of England. but I have never travelled that far to buy chocolate. ;D
