The seafront also with all the no scooters and bikes signs is more dangerous too this year for families with children to walk along. The unwritten law was May would see the end of this abuse and danger to all now nobody takes any notice of these signs and laws as well as the pollution when people are dining and enjoying their meals. Let's hope the main street traffic embargo returns soon.

It's to allow the police and Zabita quicker access to fine people and film them so they can boost their coffers!  ;)

We live opposite the Oykun Hotel and every year when they shut the main street it turns our road into a rat-run for the traffic which comes from the bridge, past the Golden moon Hotel and then past the Oykun. I'm surprised that there hasn't been an accident here as the traffic does not slow down! We think they haven't done it this year as the "road" from the bridge past the Golden Moon is basically just a dirt track after the canal works.

When we we're in calis , one night we went to the a bar where you cross the bridge ,coming back we came across the bridge where the cars are parked opp where that nice guy sells trip and homes on the corner there , we looked left , seeing that the dolmus was turning right we waited till it passed us started to cross the dirt track road to go to the front , out of nowhere this boy racer came top speed at us , we just stood still as he swerved passed us inches from our feet , within seconds as i turned my head to the right he was bombing to the other side with wheels spinning in the dirt ,the turkish guys that was stood opp talking jumped back with their eyes popping out of their heads , saying too fast , their idiots , we crossed shaking , i never slept that night due to thinking if he had knocked us over we would not have stood a chance , i kept thinking the kids back home would have been devastated ,parents out in one swoop .
This area needs closing off due to people stood around , mothers with babies in pushchairs  crossing and kids running around .
So after that then picking the calis virus up then the horrible flight back home with the turbulence i wondered how good our guide angel had been  ,my hubby said it wasn't our time ......
