I live near the pelin and I spoke to the workman yesterday.They told me that everything is coming to a halt again as the money has run out again.So that means what we have at the moment is it until more funds are allocated.No there is no plan for boat moorings or fancy railing pasted the bridge heading up by pelin:(

Hi We live near Adrenalin Village , The canal has been done and railings going in , does anyone know if they are planning so the boats will run up this far ? I i know the bridge further down is low , but wondered if it was going to be raised in the future ?

no it's not been done, see my post above, the canal has not been finished on the bottom, and there are no railings either installed or stacked ready for installation, on either side of the canal running up to the adrenalin. And the road remains a mess, which is why the staff/people from the adrenalin taking diversion through our road, unfortunately usually too fast!!

Does not surprise me in the least, loud yell and much pulling out of hair... and I do not have too much of it left!!

Im not a Calis person, although I do appreciate some of the attractions, and can perfectly understand why many people enjoy it. I have mentioned this in another thread, the canal in Calis as the potential to be a major attraction if managed correctly, having tourism in mind. Along with creative landscaping and boating facilities it could provide another dimension for the resort.

I agree totally. Not keen on colour of rails though.
It could be made to look as nice as fethiye eventually and yes it has lost some charm but it will be attractive to tourists, they like a clean fresh look.We are all for the improvements. If you still want rural go up Koka end!

Not good at all .. Do you know if there are plans for boats to eventually to come up to us .. As for Adrenaline something really needs sorting out if driving to fast .. I could never believe they are allowed to play music so loud or even set up where they are , thought it was meant to be residential area

I agree why dont they turn the canal system into a tourist attraction , it would look amazing

Hmmm, we have just bought an apt near to the bridge over the canal, to be fair it was a very good price, a great apt and we loved the area, we are optimistically hoping that in a year or two the canal will be finished and hopefully the roads re-paved. It is very usefull to read updates on the CBF and see the pics of any work done. Will be out in a few weeks to have a look for ourselves, glass half full !!

I have owned in Calis for 8 years and have had a love hate relationship with the canals .Loved them because they added an element of rustic charm,made the place feel unspoilt by tourism,different from home etc.Hate because they were dirty,often full of rubbish,extremely overgrown at times causing smells and mosses.My view now is that they are inevitably progress,they look nice as you still have the naturalness of the reeds at the entrance to the main canal and the cleaner lines of the new parts making it appear a bit more up market.Yes there have been and there are problems but in time they will be completed to a good standard,weather in and become part of the fabric of the area.Look around you we now have road,wifi,underground cables,street lighting,small parks to sit in etc.These things improve the look of the area making it attractive to visitors which after all is why Calis exists
