I find two Captain Morgans dark rum and coke in the evening works well for me , they don't bite me , hear them occasionally in the bedroom at night , and wife wakes up with bites. Either that's the cure or my skin is to tough to penetrate

Apparently rubbing the inside of a banana skin on the bite works can't say I've tried it. I find the best way is to cover myself in simkov off and not get bitten

Prevention! By far the best deterrent is odomos, a mosquito repellent from India. Available on e-bay or Amazon and its excellent.

I don't know what has happened this year to make them like my blood, even in the UK the little blitters have taken taken a shine to me,  I love Marmite, my doctor has blasted me with B12 ( not for mossies). I tried the creams lotions and potions all mentioned, except for the Rum.  However, the mouth breath freshener that I reached for in desperation is still the only thing that has worked so far.
At least if they bite someone else their breath will be fresh ;-)

I must say I agree with the hot teaspoon and the inside of a banana skin, always carry a bottle of Lavender essential oil around with me too  ;D

Watched a Professor who is an expert on mosquitos speaking on T.V. a few weeks ago.  He said that mosquitos definitely prefer some peoples blood more that others.    He did a test with Eamonn and Ruth.  As Eamonn  always gets bitten and Ruth does not.  He had a box of mosquitos with a net over the top when Eamonn put his hand over the top all the mosquitos came up, when Ruth did it just one or two came to the top.   However, the guy has not figured out why some people are preferred by Mosquitos.
He also dismissed all the remedies that people had phoned in with.  He said only produces with Deet will work.  He went on to discuss horse flies and said their bite was far worst than a mosquito bite as it is full of infection and should be cleaned and treated immediately, he said that nothing will stop horse flies from biting.

Sin Kov does it for me, available in all the little shops and supermarkets. I used to get bitten all the time but now I rub it on my legs and arms before going out in the evenings and never get bitten. We also have the little zapper things that can be bought in Aldi UK, if someone gets bitten a few clicks with the zapper and it prevents it from developing into the nasty itchy state. Horsefly bites are a lot worse.
