Maybe i misunderstood the question? I thought Nichola was asking how the £ symbol was calculated and i thought it equated to £10.00 per £ symbol so for the Bahche i would have thought £ would be enough but the equivalent meal in London could well be £££ ?

I did want to know if there was a standard for calculating what a typical price range would be based on say a couple having two or three courses and assuming that would be recognized  as such by most people.

It's pretty clear that there isn't. I think it makes sense that £ would be £10, ££ would be £20 etc ...

Anyway I've decided to not set a price range and just message people that request that information via that facebook function on our page. If I can work out how to disable it I will because I'm still getting requests to set it.

Mercury as you know our prices are in ₺ but the Facebook function only gives the choice providing that information in £.

Well that would make sense if the most expensive meals in the most expensive restaurant in the World cost 40 quid

I would say it needs to cover all countries, where in some you can eat like a King for £2 and others £40 might get you a starter - so the £/££/£££/££££ scale simply has to be comparative in the given area. Something like:

£ Cheap and cheerful
££ Good value
£££ Nice but a little pricey
££££ Bring the Marigolds
