Info needed on a lizard!
« on: April 28, 2015, 07:40:05 AM »
I seem to have acquired a little lizard that has been living in our bedroom!
It is a pale sort of pink colour and when stretched out on the ceiling at night looks about 5 or 6 inches long...
What I want to know is are they harmful as in poisonous and do they breed a lot, reason I ask this is my neighbour has already put one out for me a few nights back so I'm a bit concerned as to whether there is more then one somewhere in the bedroom....I know I have an over active imagination but I don't want to arrive here sometime to a bedroom full of lizards!
I can't hurt it or spray it or anything like that....
Thanks for any info as what it may be...

Without a photograph or good description it's difficult to tell but it's probably a gecko and will be doing a lot more good than harm. It'll be killing a lot of tiny insects for you.

I think I will try and take a photo next time it puts in an appearance...

Definitely isn't venomous, the ONLY venomous lizard in the world is the Gila Monster,  :o  which is native to the South Western States of North America... & Mexico. These little geckos or skinks, are absolutely harmless, and rather beautiful really , in my opinion anyway . ( There IS a HUGE difference between poisonous & venomous, by the way !! ) And here endeth today's Wonderful World of Nature lesson , same time tomorrow , everyone ??  ;D
