No, would not bother Des. Eating out and ordering Steak is just boriing for us.
I can remember years ago when I first started going out on dates and a date to Berni Inn with a steak was the thing to do, because menus and food where not that exciting then. Nowadays you get such wonderful menus and great food, restaurants have all moved on. I see no point in ordering steak.
that's one thing I agree 100% with you Jacqui, one thing I notice living abroad , its a brits thing, got to have a full English breakfast, and meal at night, steak and chips, was guilty of it myself years ago, then I started to try Turkish cuisine, and started to realise it was not only more healthy for you it was better value, and so much more variety.
Agree with pretty much all that, plus the obsession with Sunday roast when on holiday. Admittedly it may be different when you live in these places but why do all the restaurants think we must have roast beef and Yorkshire pudding on holiday. I don't!
We went to Gocek last Sunday and had a lovely lunch at one of the restaurants there. The owner started chatting to us and asked where we were from. Yorkshire, we replied.
Ahh, Yorkshire pudding! he says. We have problem with our Yorkshire puddings, what am I doing wrong? Really wanted to tell him not to bother but tried to give him some tips. i.e. Auntie Bessies!
