2. Buy a bottle of the cheapest wine possible and one you like (as much as you can like a Turkish wine   )

3. Have a glass of cheapest wine possible

4. Enjoy other bottle of wine

True Jackstee, icy cold is very forgiving. But I'd never buy the cheapest wine, that's asking for trouble.

Fair point Jackstee - also pour the wine out of the bottle and maybe even back in before serving. Does seem to improve wines of all qualities...

Or you could spend a whopping 25tl and buy a bottle of Melen merlot from Tansas, which is surprisingly good for Turkish wine

Just discovered AGORA wine not to be confused with ANGORA wine. The red especially is absolutely delicious and we bought ours in Melissa's on the Gunlukbasi road. At 16 TL a bottle it's an absolute bargain.

I once bought some wine from a garage near uzumlu,they put about 4 pints in a plastic screen wash container and it still had the label on it,I think the screen wash would have tasted better :-)

A few years back a shop in Hisaronu had some 2 litre glass flagons of red wine,corked. Cant remember the name

but not one i've seen round the stores. I bought 4 and it was very nice, i've still got one out there with the price still on it.   8 lira.!!
