Restaurant knocked down
« on: October 06, 2015, 20:09:18 PM »
Hi we went to calis in 2011 and there was a new restaurant over half way down the promenade past Palm beach I can't remember the name but I'm sure I read on here that the owner demolished it. Does anyone know what it was called and did it re-open anywhere? The dish I remember was something like murk masala it was red hot n lovely. We were there in August but I couldn't find it. I would like to know cause the curiosity is killing me plus am coming back on Tuesday would like to try if it's there

This will probably be of no help but according to the Restaurant Guide after The Palms there was the following

Mini Market/Gift Shop
Focus Tours
Taxi Rank
Cafe Green Restaurant/Bar
Calis Fast Food Cafe Restaurant/Bar

That took us to these.......

Market Square
Lighthouse Restaurant/Bar
Okyanus Seafood Restaurant/Bar

Hi highlander it's bugging me in July 2010 it wasn't there at all by July 2011 it had been built very modern building not attached to any hotels the lighthouse is well established as is the seafood restaurant. I've read about 60 pages on here trying to find it. I am 99.5 % sure it was demolished why I can't remember possibly planning or building regs. I wish someone could remember. We stayed at Palm beach apartments that year on the end of the prom front and it was no more than five to ten minute walk to it ... Any ideas anyone??

Can't help with the restaurant name but the dish sounds Indian and could be murgh masala - spiced chicken.

Was it the restaurant that was in front of the Seketur Hotel ?. That was demolished as the hotel has now been taken over and is awaiting either demolition or renovation. Not sure what the restaurant was called though.

The former restaurant in front of the Seketur Hotel was La Spezia Italian Restaurant, and it was only open during the 2014 season,I think.

Walk down to seafront and turn left. Restaurant is part of hotel.
