This may be a silly question, but did Senay not have his car insured ?

We also thought that Jacqui. Not being on FB we dont know the full story. Maybe he has some insurance (but not enough) which will go some way to go towards the replacement. We don't know him personally but this generosity isn't shown to everyone there who has an unfortunate accident, so he must be well loved to generate this response.

Hi Jacqui - I asked the same sensible question very early on.  And (having driven our family car "3rd party" for decades) I groaned when Senay said he is 3rd party (called something else in Turkish?).  Because it was pedestrians - rather than another (3rd party covered) car involved - there is no insurance payout.  That was THE deciding factor in creating a "crowdfunding" page.

So a sincere thank you for asking, and for adding your comment, Lotty - because it allows me to confirm this is not simply "feel-good fundraising".
