Just returned from Prague. Beautiful weather. So warm we had to remove our coats and our thermals stayed in the case! Getting some wear out of them now though.  ;)

Nothing down here in Cambridge, but very cold!
Before we moved to Fethiye used to live not very far from you Echo (St Ives), always found it quite sheltered, but when the winter winds blew off them fens you knew it!!!!

Cold night but down in glorious Deb'n (Devon) it's been a warm, sunny and beautiful day.

Blue skies, sunshine and bleak, grey Dartmoor.

Lamb hot pot and dumplings in a local pub - there are many claims to "God's own country" but this takes some beating....

P.S. perhaps a new addition to the dictionary (the title of this post reminded me) - this morning my little grandson told me that last night it "snew". (He also described pins and needles in his arm as "fizzy, invisible stars".

Not sure about the existence of God, rather suspect fictional, so I am quite happy with Bristol as Isambard Kingdom Brunel's place. Especially when drinking the Great Western Brewery's "IKB Bitter".

I'm praying that the snow will come soon, then I'll get some skiing done. Can't wait  :)

...but IKB had a French Dad and was born in Portsmouth.

Isambard Brunel Junior School is in Portsmouth.

Bristol claimed him as one of their own.

Sure the beer's good though.

We didn't get any snaw and overnight it was rayning.

Bristol has two favourite adopted sons. One is the son of a Frenchmen, I.K.Brunel, and built "God's Wonderful Railway" from London to Bristol, our Temple Meads Station for it arrive, the magnificent SS Great Britain to link Bristol to New York, and the Clifton Suspension Bridge for it to sail under. The other was the Italian, Giovanni Caboto, who changed his name to John Cabot to make it easier for Bristolians to pronounce, and went on to become the first European to land on the North American continent since Eric the Red {Columbus went to the Caribbean}. A replica of his ship, The Matthew, is berthed just along the harbour from the SS GB.
