coming late to this but for the first time in nearly 30 years of hols in Calis we are hesitant! We have booked our hotel for £1 and its not due to be paid until May however we have booked and paid for flights and although not cheap they were at good times and from Leeds ! I would be prepared to lose them though if things dont look up! Depending on the situation we might be advised not to travel in which case I might get it back but if I dont I wont lose sleep. Better safe than sorry! :-\

Well we will be going unless we are told not to by the Foreign Office.

Hopefully 6 weeks next year (well why not?).

So, small tapas with bread and olives for free to start with.  A beer a glass of wine then two huge crusty bread rolls one with cheese and chicken breast, one with bacon, gammon and cheese then one more beer and one more wine and then two lovely cofffes right by the harbour with lovely views and in the heat.  17.00 Euro.   We thought it would be more expensive because of the venue here in Tenerife..  Good value with thought.  Also, lovely to walk around the shops and no one following you and trying to sell you things.  Have to say to, getting through the airport was a breeze and picking up a car no problem.

Are you in Los Cristianos Jacqui?    We haven't been for a few years and are considering another trip.

No staying in Puerto De La Cruz.  Have not seen any cockroaches, just saw a lizard on our terrace this morning.  That is all the wild life we have seen.  However, have seen plenty of cockroaches in Turkey.

Have to agree with Mercury - see loads of cockroaches in Tenerife and Lanzarote but very few in Calis - except when I am sat out on the terrace at night quietly tapping on my laptop.  They seem to home in on me  :-\ ???

I remember one night seeing loads of cockroaches in Calis around where we have our house, they were running around the gardens.  Also when we stayed at the Sundial, there was a huge one in our bedroom.
I will report back if I see any in this part of the Island, but up to now Cockroach Gate is Nil.
