We are booked for August - first time in four years to stay at our apartment.  My boys are 16 and 19 and we discussed it as a family. They so want to go back as they love Calis.

We are booked for may for 6 weeks and must admit we are very concerned about all the problems. It will certainly change our minds about travelling too far away from fethiye as in the past we jump on a coach and have travelled all over Turkey.we will all have to be vigilant while there but I think it's going to be damaging to the tourist sector.

Keith, do you know if any of the estate agents i.e. cenk and Olga or other agents you might know, seen an increase in properties going on the market since the recent concerns to security.

My stock reply when people ask "are you going to Turkey this year " is " There was an accident at Alton Towers. Does that mean you won't be going to Blackpool Pleasure Beach ? "

( I do have other versions - "There was an accident on the M6 - does that mean you won't go on that stretch of the motorway ? " )

Think you need to look up the difference between accident and bombing people Phil. : :)

I am up to speed on the difference between a bomb and an accident.

The principle that different people, apply different levels of significance to any given risk remains.

I would of thought the odds were higher on having an accident on the way to the airport than been caught up in a terror attack.

You may well be right Markar. I think insurance companies say they pay out a hell of a lot more travel insurance money on death and injury from traffic accidents than any other cause. For the those taking a driving holiday in Europe the first 15 miles off the ferry take up most of the claims. So driving yourself to the resort from Dalaman Airport in a hire car would, I guess, be the most dangerous part of your holiday.
