Info please regarding security

"Labour Day events" is a nice euphemism.
Reality is that Turkey has a long long history of violent incidents on Labour Day.
Here a link to a video from last year's in Istanbul. You might want to take a moment to read the comments...

Like I've written before, I don't really want to contemplate on a possible threat to Fethiye, Antalya, Bodrum or wherever but unfortunately I won't be surprised if something does happen.

Last year I took a small rebate plane in our suitcase as I needed to ease a bedroom door in our apartment. No probs at stansted security, but on the return journey at Dalaman I was called to one side at the scanner ,the case was opened and a man delved around and found the tool which I had put inside one of my trainers. He then asked me what it was so not sure if he would understand I made some planing motions and he nodded ,smiled and I repacked the case.
At least it was checked.

On a serious note, thanks for the info' Dutchie. Like KKOB said the authorities are probably using profiling to look

for suspects and non Turks may not feel under the same scrutiny. It's good to know it is being taken seriously.

There are regulations in Turkey about boarding the plane. But there are also rules about planing the board.
