Hi Julie,

We got our beds from Istikbal in Fethiye - and they are really good quality - in fact our double bed (which is a king size to us in the UK) in Turkey is a nicer bed than we have at home! (slight exaggeration - but it really is comfy!).   They have different standards of bed - and we chose the better quality (we are not renting our place out - so we chose the beds WE wanted).   They also do a nice range of Sofabeds.  Without realising - we bought two sofas for our lounge - and they are sofabeds - again good quality.   They also come in handy for storage!
Istikbal have their own website - so check it out for yourself!

Happy bed hunting!!

Carole

Thanks for the info, I'm also after sofa beds (once I've sorted out a slight damp problem we have in the new extension!!!)  Do you know Istikbal's website address?

How much did the beds cost?

Hi everyone

i joined this forum about 4 days ago with the help of Ingol Angel, who is my mum-in-law who lives in calis. We are comimg over in April to furnish our apartment. I feel the neeed to stress what scunner has already said. I have found both Pints and Jules1 furniture lists to be a wonderful help to myself and my husband. Without them we would have had no idea how much furniture would cost out there. Yes i know i have the help of my mum-in law and so am quite fotunate in that she would prevent us from getting ripped off,But i must also stress it was she infact who e-mailed me the original list from pint, about Erin spot, which is how i got to know about this forum in the first place!!! It s a great help to us newcomers, who have no idea about the costs of anything in calis. This forum is about helping each other with ideas and answers to questions, which over the last 4 days i have gathered much information that i have found invaluable!! Pint and jules1, you are very helpful!! As are most!. I'd never heard of Erin spot until i recieved my e-mails from Ingol Agel, and yes i will be purchasing from the shop when i come out. If credit is being brought towards Bekhir and his staff at the store, then my guess is its because poeple have good things to say on this forum,if you know of something good then why not share it?!! Its certainly helped me and my husband know how much to budget for furniture!! ( just hope there's some left to spend!!
thank you to all!!

Hi Ali,

If you go on Google - and put in Istikbal - it should bring up the link to the website.   There are a number of links and it is just a case of searching.  We are really pleased with our stuff - and the amount of people that have passed comment too!   As regards the prices - we purchased in February last year - £150.00 for the single beds each - which included the headboards (which we had all to match)  and the double/king size ones were about £300.00 - again including the headboards.   We also had them make - especially - three dressing tables (and they are big ones) for each of the three bedrooms and they were about £100.00 each.  That included three stools - or 'puffs' as they like to call them!
We also had some 'freebies' thrown in - but that is - as we all know - sales patter.   Make sure you get free pillows with the beds - we did and they are lovely - again as nice as the ones at home - no cheap crap! But we were pleased with what we bought!

I would suggest looking - no-one can 'make' you buy anything - shop around - at the end of the day you have to live with what you purchase!   On the other hand we did have a slight problem with the dining table - they changed it within hours!   No problems any more!  They even come to the house and assemble everything.  Put the beds together - put everything where you want it - good as gold.

Also lie on the beds.  When we went in to the shop - it was February and we went straight from the house (new build - where there was a lot of MUD) - and walked the contents of our shoes in the shop - you know they did not mind!  Imagine that in World of Leather!!!! hahahaha.    By the way we removed our shoes before we lay on the beds!

Thanks for that Carole

I've found the site http://www.istikbal.com.tr/ - and I'm going to have hours of fun. Will have to get trusty Red House out for a bit of translating though - glad I bought the large version last year!

At least it gives me an idea of what they do before I go off in search of shops with beds and sofas and tables and chairs and shelves and dressing tables and .... and ... and ... !  Think the other half has just decided my next trip to Turkey is without him - can't imagine why!!

They even come to the house and assemble everything. Put the beds together - put everything where you want it - good as gold.
This made me laugh - do you think I might persuade IKEA, Croydon to come up with the same service???  :D

Ali
