My story Stuart??
You do not want to know! we,that is my husband and I fell foul of the smiling Turks who offer their hand in partnership and the other behind their back taking everything else off you.
OK!!!I know that this will make me sound like a bitter person because of that experience, which by the way, cost and lost us over £20K! OK, I am, but in
that respect only.
Given that you take away all the crap people, shyster "businessmen" and other rip off merchants, go out into the country where I have never found an unwelcoming face or voice, Then Turkey,as with most countries has a lot going for it.
What I object to is those people who come to this land and blag about how much their home cost them last week and how much it is worth this week. There are a lot of them out there. Oh,they may not want to openly admit it on such a public forum as this, but just listen to the chat in the bars, and restuarants such as "Cafe Ole" in Paspatur (My apologies to Attila, he cannot dictate the tastes of his customers!) Outside in the shade, coffee and bun! Oh yes I hear it all the time and get heartily sick of the way in which my so-called "fellow country" people are making a profit out of the likes of the families who have had to move because their landlord can make a 500% profit selling a crappy apartment to Brits,Germans, Dutch etc!!!
My dream Stuart?? to live in a place where none of the aforesaid ever happens!!! I guess I just got to keep looking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:-\
Oh yes,Tribalelder, I was not being patronising as you put it.That post was part of a genuine response and you quoted it out of context, did you ever work for the "SUN" newspaper in one of your former lives by any chance?[
