Thanks everyone, nice to get a welcome.  Yes gt, it has changed, enormously.  Mostly for the better; downside as I see it is local people having been priced out of the property market & the influx of workers from other parts of Turkey during the summer season. I think the main difference 'though is during winter.  I came over one New Year, '97 I think - Calis completely closed except for Annas & practically nowhere open in Fethiye & certainly no foreigners in any great numbers - odd one or two.  Totally different now of course. And yes, Cavfan, we probably have seen each other around - I've bumped into people I've met in previous years on the prom on many an occasion!

The other thing I forgot to add (in how things have changed) is shops.  Before Gima & Migros there was just one small supermarket - opposite where Gima is now - I think it was Tansas.

We remember that Glitzy. In Calis there was the 'little man' shop at the back of the Harem or the Askins market up the prom and a couple of very small shops.

Had forgotten about the 'little man' shop!  And of course Cavan you would remember Calis began after the bridge; was just undergrowth from the aries to the bridge.  Hard to imagine now..
