The "Queen" and myself were walking from our place in Deliktas down to the marina for an evening stroll, when the massaging skallywag appeared out of nowhere, he tried telling us how much he loved the English and how he could give us a private guided tour of the rock tombs.

I think we confused him somewhat by telling him we were not English we were Welsh, and also pointed out it was 8.30 pm and a little late for climbing up to the tombs !, he was a little "socially confused" and had maybe lost track of time bless him.

He did hurl a bit of abuse, though I did find it all a little comical, I can see how people like he can be very intimidating and bad for the area, the more people who know about him the better.

some of these con men are amusing, although some go to far, a firm but polite no always works for me. And if they are rude I just walk on as sticks and stones etc, and you nearly always get the normal turks looking at them in disgust as they rant away. don't let them spoil your holiday.

Great being a Welsh man, let him try it on with me and I will confuse him with my fluent welsh rhetoric, might try a few poems and a song to boot!

Seriously, silly question, no role here for the tourist police!
