As an alternative to the organised trips, it is worth considering tking the bus from Fethiye to Kusadasi. I know an excellent little pension right in the heart of Kusadasi. If you book to stay with them for a night or 2 they will pick you up from the bus station in Kusadasi and take you back to the pension. They will also take you to Ephesus and bring you back when it suits you. I am fairly sure they do not charge for the transport. They didnt charge us when we were there.
