It was so sad to hear this news this mornig.

Sad but, I think, inevitable.
-
Yes Its a murder investigation now. There will be a lot more shocking news to come as to how it happened.
-
And, no doubt, Social Services will be blamed again.

No it is NOT a murder investigation now, it is being treated as a suspicious death, there has been absolutely NO mention of the "M" word from the Police, or any other official body.
-
I was just quoting what was said on the BBC news this mornng. That it was being treated as a murder
investigation. I am not sure what the Social Services has to do with this terrible news to be honest.

Well, as is the case with a lot of child deaths, it'll be Social Services who will be blamed for not noticing that there was a possibility that the mother wasn't coping and was likely to do something untoward.
-
Think you will find the S.S. have been involved in the past.
My daughter's Mum in Law, lives in Kirkcaldy and her best friend is neighbours with the Auntie behind whose home the body was found. They are all so sad and in so much shock. The Mum in Law was in her friend's house the day before the little boy was found and is feeling really upset about this poor child.
-
The mother has now been arrested not with murder though. It sounds that there may be others involved.

Charged, not arrested. And although not charged with murder, not not charged with murder, if that makes any sense.
-
Give it a while. Jacqui will use her network to find out what's going on.
-
Whether or not she murdered her son I'm of the opinion she had something to do with it somewhere along the line.
A three year old doesn't get up in the middle of the night and end up forty miles away without someone taking him there. As there has been no mention of any other adult in their home at the time that person could only have been her.

LOL. No. Not a bit of sence Scunner.

Well it did to me :)

Just been announced on Sky News. His mother has been charged with his murder.
No mention of any others at this stage.

Jacqui has decided to say no more, save to say she is not surprised at the latest turn of events, best to let justice take it's course.

For Christ's sake, she has NOT been charged with murder, she has been charged "in connection with his DEATH" !!!!!!!!!! The actual charge/charges, will not be known until she appears before The Procurator Fiscal on Monday, 20th January.
Scots Justice System works in an entirely different way to English Justice System !!!! Thank God !!

Are you getting one of your headaches again Gordon ?
-
Can someone (GordonA included) explain why in this case the police are not saying what she is charged with.
I cannot think of a logical reason for not doing so.
-
I think Gordon already has?
-
When someone can kill 270 innocent people, get sentenced to a minimum of 27 years imprisonment,
get a visit in his cell from a justice secretary, get diagnosed as having 12 weeks to live by a GP not
specialising in Prostrate Cancer, get released after serving 8 years, flown home to a hero's welcome
and live a further 3 years in comfort I say "Thank God" I don't have to live under a Justice System like that.!!!!!!

Surely Highlander, you can understand the justice system you live under ? If not, I suggest you ask Gordon to take you to one side to explain it for you. He's very calm and patient with people who don't understand HIS Caledonian way of doing things. ;)

Think how I feel in the same room as him, it is a good job I either have the patience of a saint or I have fine tuned my selective hearing.

And then of course, we have the fantastic English Justice System, which failed to pursue a conviction, or trial even, against Mr. Earnest Saunders, a main player in the "Great Guinness Fraud", who is the only person, in the entire world mind you, to be diagnosed with Alzheimers, have ALL charges dropped because of this, then, lo and behold, make a complete recovery !! His blood must be worth more than gold dust !! Hurrah for English justice, .........if you are one of the elite clique !! Headache time.

Back to the child in question, it would appear the family were well known to social services while they were living at the address the child was found at, but following the move they "fell off the radar", so I suspect that again social services will have to give some kind of explanation.

Mikaeel Kular: Mother Rosdeep charged with son's MURDER
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-25816678
-
So, now that she's been charged with murder, the newspapers are pixellating her face, and TV and radio aren't using her name! Weird, or what ?
-
The only question I can ask is WHY. She had 5 children, 1 of the them the little boys twin. She must have had some sort of breakdown. All the friends and neighbours talk about the little boy being very loving towards his mum, so whatever caused her to kill him? I know none of us can answer this question but it is something that causes me much distress :'(
-
If, as is being suggested, Social Services have failed another vulnerable child I will scream >:(
-
So agree John, why were the people concerned not around to prevent this dreadful thing happening if the mother was considered a risk to her kids why were they left with her?
-
It is being suggested that information wasn't passed on when the family moved to Edinburgh.
If that turns out to be the case, then it shouldn't be a case of "learning lessons" it should be a case of clear your desks and get the hell out of Social Services.
And WITHOUT a massive pay off.
-
Echogirl, don't jump to the assumption that the children where never taken away from her in the past.
Police are being very thorough, my Daughter's Mum in Law had to go to the Police Station for questioning because she was in her friend's house in that Street in Kirkcaldy, at a certain time, and they had to question everyone known to be in the area at that time.
-
Jacqui - the point I and I understand echogirl1 was making was about Social Services NOT the police although I think we may hear a lot more about their involvement in the future.
-
Yes, I was talking about Social Services too. The Police being thorough was just an addition to my posting.
-
Let's wait and see how thorough the police were :(
