Or  'can I ask you a question?' Closely followed by yours Keith.

If my dad and I are shopping around Fethiye, he quickly throws them by saying 'You just have' then smiles and we carry on walking and looking around. I imagine the poor guy is still scratching his head over that by the time we've walked round the corner.

Will probably only go to the market for fruit and veg as dad needs my limited Turkish skills and for a delicious gozleme and juice. Yum   :)

I very much like how we all have one related with food on the lists. Definitely creatures of habit with the grub haha

My habits are -

1. walk along the promenade to see changes and meet old friends
2. visit fish market
3. walk along promenade into Fethiye and think every time that the views are still as good as I have ever seen anywhere
4. sit in the garden and contemplate my navel and wonder why the hell I haven't retired and then I could stay as long as I wanted !!

My/our habits are:
1. First day wander down to Olu for a day at the beach and to see the changes and just unwind.
2. Wander around H to see the changes and catch up with friends
3. Catch up with friends out in Kaya
4. chill, sunbathe, chill, drink, chill, sunbathe and so on and so forth.

We didnt go last year so very much looking forward to going this year (in 6 weeks!) each year I say lets not go to the markets, but each year we do, and come out sweating and regretting that we went! lol. The only funny thing is the locals saying to my other half 'hey sexy baldy' (makes me giggle anyway, because it doesnt him!)

Many many years ago the first thing we used to do was drop off our cases in the house and get straight round to the Ernur for a nice cold Efes and catch up with our good friends, Pearl, Ronnie, Celal and Cemal and not forgetting the chef Zeki - who did a wonderful "Special Chicken with little chilli!' Those were the days!! Sadly the Ernur no longer exists as we knew it and we wouldn't be seen dead in the place now. Have really find memories though - remember the CBF get together you organised Keith, it was a great day!! It was also the first time I ever set eyes on Teo - what a sight for sore eyes!!! Thought I'd died and gone to heaven!!!

Yes it was the first and without doubt the best CBF annual party - the Ernur did us proud with food & drink. Remember the next one? The nicest man on CBF got thrown out!

They were such great days at the Ernur back then, I remember them very fondly. I even stayed there when I went out alone. Sadly nothing lasts forever and it ended for me when R&P's business partner ripped off my friend who was visiting us from the UK, right in front of me.

Ah that wasn't George that got thrown out - he was just as ever the gentleman and left with me after I had that terrible altercation with that vile man from Orange - I think he thought that he could speak to foreign women the way he speaks to Turkish but I gave him short shrift!!! Hence I was non too politely asked to leave, but I was already on my way!!
I'd forgotten about the problem you had with 'a certain person' at the Ernur!! It was a shame coz Ronnie was a great fella - a real character and is sadly missed.

Yes he was a character, we sat at that bar sorting out the world's problems many times.

The other guy I certainly did have a problem with! I remember the first time I ever went to (or even heard of) the Ernur was the day of the notorious "ice cream incident" and George took me across there. There was a time when the Ernur was the fullest hotel in all of Calis and people like you and people like me helped make that happen - not for any commission or payment, because we wanted to help make it a success.

To have the person who's hotel is full of people you recommended to it rip off your mate from England is not acceptable behaviour!

I sometimes forget, I never forgive   ;)

My firsts for each time we visit calis are:
Drinking on Rimms balcony till I can just about make it up the stairs to bed.
Trip to Talos.
Trip on water taxi to Fethiye.
Meal in the fish market.
Wander up to Gunlukbasi Road and taking in the sights, sounds and smells.
Bit best of all is seeing the Rimms after months of talking on ft to them.

Jim's are:
Pint of Effes waiting on gatepost.
Mozaik Bache meze - sensational
Fish market, as always
Barbers for shave and the works on the Gunlukbasi Road.
Sun Dial = Time to say goodbye.
