Hopefully getting a sneaky 10/14 night break but not until 6/7th October, don't normally come out this late so want to know if there are plenty of restaurants open still and also looking for a hotel that doesn't sting you for single room rates as I'm on my own this time, the BH can't get the time off. Normally stay at ibrahim bey but they shut up on the 10th for the season

Most of the restaurants & bars are open until end October. Sorry can't help with accommodation, have you tried Travel Republic or Sunshine Holidays, as these seem to give fair deals

We came last year for three weeks from the 6th October, the one thing I could not get usd to was the way it went dark so quickly, so could not sit outside to read and enjoy the late sun.  Also it went very cold at night. So bring a jacket and long trousers.  We had some rain too.  At the end of the three weeks it was very quiet and places started to shut down.  However, we enjoyed our stay and some of the restaurants put Oil Drums with logs in outside to burn and keep you warm.  If we got the chance and a cheap flight (no chance) we might come again in October.

We've been a few times to Turkey during the school half-term which is invariably the last week of October. If I can get a bargain break, we will do so again this year.

My experience is (from various resorts) that some bars/restaurants  are shut, others shut whilst we are there, but there's plenty of others still open. We usually do a boat trip too.

It doesn't warm up till about 10.30 am, days are a bit annoyingly short and evenings can be cool. It gets worse if you're there when the clocks go back (not a problem this year).

Still better than the alternative, though.

I am coming out on 18th October for a week - I am bringing some long trousers/cardigans which I would not bring earlier in the year. (Though I was in Calis for a week in early November last year and the weather was lovely - not warm enough to swim, but fine for a stroll along the prom in shorts and a teeshirt!). The days are much shorter though, so be prepared for that.

I can personally recommend the Nevada Hotel - it is worth checking on Travelrepublic and Sunshine Holidays as well as contacting the hotel direct (they have a website and Facebook page).

We did have some cold weather last October and some rain.  In fact, it was so cold one night Phil nipped into a shop on the prom and bought a fleece jacket.  The rain did make it cold.  I remember the Calis Beach Restaurant had the sides and front down, so it was nice and cosy in there.

Many years ago I came out in mid November on a buying trip and we spent as much time as we could during

that week sunbathing, it was sunshine every day, even swam in the Lagoon. Glorious weather.

The nights were cold, someone loaned us an electric blanket, and two nights there was a frost but the days

really were hot. Some lovely log fires in some of the Bars in Hisaronu, good company (and alcohol) took the

  chill off the evenings.l

We have spoken to lots of locals and they all seem to think the weather in Turkey is changing. This month of September has been so odd, really roasting hot for the first weeks and then the last week colder and raining with thunder and lightening storms.  So, it will be interesting to see what October and November bring.
