We've been a few times to Turkey during the school half-term which is invariably the last week of October. If I can get a bargain break, we will do so again this year.
My experience is (from various resorts) that some bars/restaurants are shut, others shut whilst we are there, but there's plenty of others still open. We usually do a boat trip too.
It doesn't warm up till about 10.30 am, days are a bit annoyingly short and evenings can be cool. It gets worse if you're there when the clocks go back (not a problem this year).
Still better than the alternative, though.
