My name is Thelma Talbot and my husband is Ian. We have lived in Ovacik now for over three years and love the area and the country. We are retired and don't do much really but I do write a column for the Land of Lights.
My reason for joining this forum is simply down to our amazement at the power this forum really has and the impact it can make to people's lives. We were unfortunate enough to be burgled last week and our vehicle was stolen. The vehicle is a Land Rover Discovery and it's Jade green so not a vehicle that can be hidden easily. Our dear friends Amanda and Mark Clout from Calis posted a plea for help on this site and within hours one of your members had spotted the car in Fethiye and it was undamaged.
I will be contact the person who spotted it personally but I would say that if you, like me, were a skeptic about posting this sort of thing on this forum please think again. It's probably the most powerful source of help that is available.
Hence we have joined you.
