New Member and Tourist Scams TV series
« on: April 19, 2007, 12:22:33 PM »
Hello,
Just a few words to introduce myself. My name's Kyra and I'm making a documentary series about tourist scams around the world in order to draw travellers' attention to the (albeit small) risks they face, and hopefully help them to avoid falling victim to these schemes. I love travelling myself (especially Turkey...I used to live there) and definitely DON'T want to scaremonger or put people off travelling - just arm them with the facts so they clear steer of the scams. We are focussing on clever elaborate scams which catch people completely unawares, and look at the tell-tale signs of a scam and how to avoid it. Someone suggested I look at calis-beach.co.uk as you have such an active discussion forum.
I'd like to hear from anyone who has experienced a scam first hand, and I am also especially keen to get in touch with anyone who has been scammed by 'Tango', as I am doing some research on him.
I would just like to add that I have the moderator's permission to put a posting on this site.
I look forward to hearing from you! Apparently you will be able to contact me via my profile.
Thanks,
Kyra

Welcome to the Forum. This could prove to be "Interesting" but Tango's escapades were some time ago now.

He has moved on but hopefully this might lead to the peg legged fatman being found ?

He's the greatest scammer outside of the Clarence Pub  ;)
