Terrorism: The penalty
« on: July 04, 2007, 21:16:19 PM »
This is a topic which has cause many a "domestic" in the Highlander household over the years.

Mrs H is against the death penalty.

For me, I can see no logical reason as to why the two people who tried, with malice aforethought. to slaughter woman and children at Glasgow Airport last Saturday should not receive the death penalty.

Of course there is the argument of creating martyrs - if I accept that the death penalty for these two would result in more extremists, then I would want them to know that, when captured, then they could expect the same response. If they want to die I would be happy to oblige.

This is not a knee-jerk reaction to recent events in our country - I would have dealt with Jamie Bulger's killers and Thomas Hamilton in the same way
