Hi Everyone,

Realistically, my wife and I aren't true Turkey Converts just yet and have only been to 'touristy' Altinkum and Marmaris. In 2008 we plann to holiday in either Calis or Fethye or ole denize and leave the Canaries as our usual first choice

the question is:
which is best for a young family on a medium budget
must have's -
Beach
not too expensive resturaunts
entertainment for kids (+ some for us at night)
relaxing - not too noisey, but with some life
reasonable hotels

must not's
be anything like Marmaris or Blackpool

All Suggestions welcome

Hi jonjac, Welcome to CBF  :)  Lots of family hotels, restaurants, beach etc in Calis, I'm sure you'll get lots of suggestions.  Have a look at the review section, they'll give you a few ideas too, good luck, I know you'll all enjoy yourselves  :)

Hi Jon and Jackie. If its your first trip out then try Olu Deniz as a nice base - close to a lovely beach and lots of bars around. Blue Lagoon is great for younger kids as it is really safe as it gently slopes into water.

Hi and welcome to the CBF.
Olu Deniz is beautiful but more expensive than Calis.

Welcome to the forum jonjac.I would say that Calis was cheaper than Olu Deniz, and probably has more to offer. However, the beaches in Olu Deniz are sandier.Catch 22.The good thing is that the two resorts are not so far away and you can use a Dolmus to commute between the two cheaply.
