Hi everyone,
my name is Carole and my partner is Alan, we are very pleased to meet you all.
We have been on holiday several times to the kaya valley, we simply love Turkey, especially this area. We wanted to buy in Kaya but it is restricted, we visted Uzumlu and loved it, so we have at last taken the plunge!!! We are a little way off having our own place as we have bought land so our Villa is yet to be built!!! We are so looking forward to being able to come over and stay for long periods, with a view to retiring there.
We have enjoyed reading your posts and look forward to keeping in touch.

Hi Carole and Alan - welcome to the forum and an even bigger welcome to Uzumlu from fellow (Part time residents) of Uzumlu.  I am sure you will love every minute of your new home.  We bought there two years ago and adore it and also have plans to retire there once our daughter is off doing her own thing.  Where are you ?  perhaps we are neighbours !   Congratulations on taking the plunge (have you bought your earplugs for the cockerals, donkeys, drummers and Imam yet ?!)

thank you for more warm welcomes! It's great to have a place like this to 'meet' people, makes you feel really 'connected'
We are in the very early stages of our purchase, nothing signed as yet, but if all goes well we hope to be in the village, not far from the square. Whatever happens, we fully intend to buy something in Uzumlu!! We have been holidaying in the kaya valley for some time now, so we are well used to the early morning wake up call form various species!! But thanks for the warning anyway.
We have only been home a week and can't settle, we are already hankering after the 'good life', just can't wait to get things rolling.
