For those that overstay their visa...DONT
« on: March 04, 2008, 16:15:42 PM »
Before, citizens of group A countries that stayed longer than their visa permitted, used to be able to exit Turkey without facing an entrance ban by paying an overstay fee corresponding to the number of overstay days.

According to the new regulation, those overstaying on their visa will face an entrance ban lasting the same number of days as the overstay. In order to avoid this ban, one must pay a fee at the Foreign Police Department and obtain residence permit recognised as exit permission before exiting the country

Group A Countries:  EU and OECD member countries, USA, Germany, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Holland, United Kingdom, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Italy, Japan, Canada, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal, New Zealand, Greece, Ireland, Czech Republic, Hungary, South Korea, Mexico, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Malta and Southern Cyprus

This law came into force on Feb. 15th. So if you have overstayed you will need to go to Mugla and get a 15 day residence for leaving permit.
