I hope this doesn't turn into a ramble as it is of interest to me. It arises from an excellent post by John H under "Other Sports" (22 Apr 2008)which some of the members may not have seen.
In that post, John H took me to task, quite rightly, for complaining about government activities, but not actually doing anything about it.
As I said, John H is perfectly correct in my case. As an example, I have a reply from the Scottish Executive stating that the budget for the new Scottish Parliament was £ 50m excluding Professional Fees and VAT. That reply was received before the building process began, but what did I actually do with that information when the costs started to escalated. Nothing - SFA.
This is a pet subject of mine - Mrs H will tell you that if I get started, I will soon be in full Victor Meldrew mode and be ranting on for page after page. But I'll hold fire for the moment, to see if other members are interested in posting on this subject or if there is a deafening silence.
The questions I suppose are:
Sometimes, does what Local and/or National Government gets up to really annoy you.
Do you constantly verbally complain about it but ultimately do nothing.
If not, do you think you should have.
