We stayed in Hisaronu 5 times, we liked it very much but thought it was noisy at night in places.  Each to their own.  I am sure you will like it and you can get to Olu Deniz, and Fethiye easily from there.  Also try going to Kaya.  We walked there a couple of times.  Its a fairly long way on a hot day but I enjoyed it.

Try Shine Indian and Dragonaro Chinese. or Robin hood, White Man, Olive tree. Do a search for other places in Hisaronu.  There are plenty of eateries depending on taste and budget.

Enjoy and report back  :)

BTW you can catch a dolmus to Kaya.  They are once an hour till the season gets busy and then every half an hour and you can flag them down en route.
