I reckon I should introduce myself here, though I have left if a few weeks.
Probably due to the fact my opinion may be unimportant unless I let you all know who you are replying to etc  :)
Ste Taylor from Chorley Lancashire which is lodged in between Preston, Bolton, Wigan and Blackburn or about 24 miles from Manchester where my beloved United play:D.
I am in my mid 40s until 6th of September when I hit my late 40s:(
I am coming first time to the area this Wednesday with my partner Bev, her 12 year old daughter Danielle, her 9 year old son Shaun and my 11 year old lad Jason.
I list my hobbies as football, camping, holidays in North Wales, and I like to unwind after work a couple of times a week and have a few beers, usually at home, well more than a few, but whos counting?
I am a home credit agent, please do not ask for a loan, and am self employed which means I do not receive holiday pay for going to Turkiye:D.
Cheers for this forum, really is a wealth of information and a bit of a laugh sometimes with more characters than the cast of Eastenders, Corrie and the other soaps all put together.
I hope to contribute on here for many moons to come.

Ste

Welcome Steve :D My memories of your area include staying in a hotel at Camelot (bizarre place to stay on your own) and one of the best Indians I have ever been to - it was called the Blue Elephant I think.

Welcome Steve

It brings back happy memories, Derek Road in Whittle le Woods Chorley - bought my first house there and had many a pint at the Dog on the back lane. Enjoy your holiday in the area but be careful...it is addictive.

Well thank you, my partner was brought up near Derek road in Whittle le woods on Chorley Old Road near the Duke of York.
Small world yes?
We were in the Blue Elephant the other week, great Indian, cannot believe the chairman has been there, and Camelot we tend to go once a year, with free tickets through a mate of mine :)
We are about 4 miles from the Indian, but its worth going the extra mile or two for the food, which is a little more expensive than a few other local, decent ones , but hey,top quality counts sometimes!
Really made my partners day hearing Derek Road mentioned, shes been sort of listening to me prattling on about this forum, now shes really into it, typical eh?:D

Good old Chorley, I really miss shopping in the market as we used to do on a Tuesday when the kids were small. The only place I ever won a full house at bingo, as an act of charity I took my mam to the one opposite southport road and won £55 big money in 1978.
You wait till your partner clocks the view round Fethiye Bay she might rank it just above the view of the leyland paint factory at near Derek Road.
