Cookers

I know what you are all thinking a question about cookers from a male. We have just had our white goods installed in our new appt and they have put a gas cooker in and we have been told we will have to have an un-sightly gas bottle in the kitchen. Is this the norm or can they not make electric cookers in Turkey.

Actually Alan, I'm sure you can get electric ovens in Turkey, but with the unreliable power supply it may be best to have bottled gas anyway.  We have, but managed to adapt base unit to hide it beautifully.

I have gas central heating and my oven is electric. I don't actually think I've seen a gas oven, but then I don't pay much attention to women's things  ;)

We've got a fan assisted electric oven.

Have you thought of trying to run the pipe through the wall to the outside? That way you'll save on cupboard space, won't have to worry about a possible leak and might also have room to store a spare.

We have an electric oven and gas hob with an electric ring. I think it is due to power cuts if you haven't got electric at least you can make coffee for the hangover :D

you are defo better off with gas as previous member said if power goes off you can make a drink or two. We had a gas bottle installed in a cupboard underneath the hob so does not look unsightly at all, also we are still on our first gas bottle over a year later, works out quite cheap in the long run.

We have a duel gas electric hob, works quite well when the gas runs out, at least we can use the electric part of the hob until we get the gas bottle replaced.

Doesn't always work though, the last time my gas ran out was in the middle of a power cut, good job i had a bottle of orange in the fridge. Alan
