Trip to Kas
« on: June 30, 2008, 22:55:35 PM »
When we were over in June we went to Kas for a couple of days with some friends. Terry wanted to try the diving there as we had heard it was good. It was a lovely trip. Went along the coast road, beautiful views. Stayed in a lovely little hotel over looking the marina again wonderful views from the balcony. Terry loved the diving too. I have posted a link to some pics I took, just a few as i took over 250 shots, just couldn't stop snapping.
We were also in Calis for it's first carnival and it was brilliant.
And I love the way the shops look now.Calis looks really good. Not that I didn't love it before but it does look really good. Hope the link below works.

Jacx, great picks, did you go to the rock tombs at Myra while you were in Demri.
Pity diving is not allowed over the sunken city in Kekova, a divers paradise I would have thought. 8)

Hi Mike I have heard about the sunken city at Kerkova, but didn't realise you couldn't dive there, That's a shame. Did you used to be able to dive there and they have put a stop to it or what? I didn't get to see the rock tombs, that's something to do on another visit. We will definately go back there. We only had one night and two days there, just wetted the appetite so to speak, but thoroughly enjoyed it. Unfortunately I don't dive, I tried it once but didn't feel as passionate about it, the way that Terry does. Wish I did, it would be good to share the experience. Perhaps I will give it another go. :)

Jacx, I don't know how long the diving ban has been in place but I was last there about ten years ago and it was in place then, come to think of it I don't think you can swim over it either but the waters near by are full of fish. If you get the chance to go to Myra it is well worth the effort and only a mile or two from Demri. 8)

Thanks for that Mike, we are over again in October but only for a week, if I can't fit it in then, there is always next year. :)
