CBF Influences
« on: July 10, 2008, 09:05:38 AM »
Who do you think has been influential in shaping CBF the way it is - apart from Scunner of course. Really I am thinking about "ordinary" members rather than Administrators or Moderators. I suppose this could be influence for better or worse, but let us concentrate on the good stuff here.

I would cite Highlander for his photographs of Scotland and clear love for his home country. Apart from the pleasure we can find in these in their own right I think these have had wider influence. I believe they have encouraged more people to write positive things about where they live and their lives in the UK, and discouraged those who have only negative remarks to make. This curbs the kind of everything-in-Turkey-is-wonderful and everything-about-Britain-is-rubbish attitude that I find irritating on some Turkey forums. It is possible to love and enjoy both Britain and Turkey and I think Highlander's posts take a lead in this. Well done H.

So, who would you nominate as Influential Member and why?

Colwyn - I edited the title from CHF to CBF - I assumed you missed the 'B' and hit the 'H'
