Old Calis photos
« on: July 21, 2008, 13:59:25 PM »
I posted these some time ago but given the renewed interest in 'old' Calis photos , here they are again. The quality isnt great but then we were using box brownies in those days! :-\

This is the Harem when it first opened as a bar- some of the orignal wall 'feature' work is still there! :-\
In photo- Jukey, Cafer( Mehmets partner) and me! C 1991

This is of a few faces you may recognise- its a bit grainy but your lucky its not sepia!
Laffa and kenny at front Jukey and I - Sinan(some of you may know) and I cant remember which bar- Laffs or Jukey might?

This is ancient- its in the Old Post office though you cant see much of it- and its Joseph and I circa 91

Again, the old Post office( site of Kerim hotel)- recognise a very young Murat- U2 and fireating fame!

Er-oz hotel from the beach pre- facelift!

Mutlu Hotel, the original building, pre pool etc c 86

Mutlu hotel- the first year with a pool, 90/91? See the houses at the back , they were all down the side of the river!

Harem- formerly Kumsal pension our first hols in Calis 1989

A bit self indulgent this but my mum and a very young Mehmet( Harem) ealy 90's

The prom looking down from the Mutlu c87/87

With apologies for the sizing (Can you re-size Scunner or should I try again)

Not sure who the "young lady" in the pics 2 and 3 is, but mildly attractive I suppose ;)

fantastic, hopefully someone else will have some more.  It's lovely to see what it was like back then.  We've seen many changes in the five years we've been coming and have often thought Calis is losing it's rustic charm.  Looking at these it seems that happened long before then.
