A Question for Highlander
« on: July 29, 2008, 22:26:36 PM »
Is this the Scots way of showing romance?

Quite a while back I asked if anyone knew where I could purchase a sensitive bone this was because Gordon had not noticed something I deemed important, as it was coming up to Christmas i thought this would be an ideal gift for the man who had nearly everything except sensitivity.

The time when our friend Paul was visiting I was busy doing house work, as it was hot I was looking flustered, my thoughtful Husband says " it is too much for you, why not get a Turkish woman in, she will do a better job than you"  I could see Paul out of the corner of my eye slowly sliding down the settee trying to hide behind a paperback muttering  "Gordon I really can't believe you said that"

The Romance of Christmas reminds me of the christmas present he bought me,  An ironing press!!! the gift tag said " To make you life easier darling"!!!   my friends were getting jewellery and Perfume

The time, my parents were going on holiday, at the time we could only afford 1 car to run, so they offered us their new car, great! I had my 2 weeks planned, running around in a new car, "No" says Gordon, you are not having the new car, you will not look after it,  The first day he took the car out he had a crash (no one was hurt) the car a complete write off!  the police came to the scene,  Gordon refused ambulance, the copper said " is this your car sir"? "No" says Gordon "It is my mother-in-laws new car"  the police could not finish their statements through tears and laughter. He wished I drove the NEW car...lol

Or the time when Gordon again was trying to put right what he had said to upset me,  ok we have been together 20years he does try romance from time to time, sometimes I wish he would not bother  this was one of those times  "Darling, I have been out with some beautiful women in my time, then I met you"    I couldn;t afford a divorce then, I relied on his "Saga" insurance discount!!!

Last week we had words, the house was silent, you could hear a pin drop, it was like living the life of a widow but the husband was still alive!
finally Gordon succumbed (running out of clean clothes?), " I am really  sorry" he says,
I replied " well don't insult my intelligence"
Gordon's reply  looking at me eyes full of remorse  "What intelligence"  then very quickly realising what he had said ran for the door shouting apologies and trying to explain what he meant.

Anyone got a new spade, Gordy's is nearly worn out!![8]
