My son purchased some Wii Games (obviously copies) at Fethiye market, I knew there was a big risk when he bought them that they may not work as he could not try them like you can the DS/Gameboy games so I ensured he got a good price.  Upon returining yes you have guessed they do not work, it does strike me however that this may be because the Wii unlike the DS/Gameboy is not universal eg. you cannot play games purchased in the States on the Wii's sold in UK, so I am not sure whether it is a rip off or just that is not compatible with our Wii.  Any one else had the same problem or have any ideas?

Hi there,

In order to play copy games on the Wii, you need to get the console chipped.  This costs around £60 but once its done, its done.  You are then able to play copy games (ie Pirate games) on the console.  You need to look in the bargain pages or go to a computer fair and get someone to do it for you.  I think the latest chip is called the Wii-key.  I hope this helps

Any of the retail games shops will do it and they will also sell you the pirate copies to go with it!  ;)

Although it doesn't necessarily follow that the games from Calis market will work on it, they could be blank or full of Frank Sinatra songs  ;)

Which retail game shops are you thinking of specifically Fletch.  I guess if they are full of Frank Sinatra or such like its better than nothing!!!!!!  I knew it was a risk but sometimes we have to throw caution to the wind.

I would rather get a blank disc than one full of Frank Sinatra, at least I might get more enjoyement from a blank disc.
